About the Center

The Center for Democracy is an independent non-partisan institution established in the University of Dohuk in collaboration with the (IRI) International Republican Institute. The agreement was signed between the President of the University of Dohuk and the Director of the Program Resident in Iraq, in 2004. The center is committed to organizing ongoing expanded workshops on the issues of democracy and human rights.

Objectives

• Hold conferences, workshops, and training on issues of democracy, human rights and the constitution, civil society, and the political process
• Provide opportunities to access relevant information from both the internet and printed sources
• Search, within specific guidelines, for opportunities to teach internet skills to interested parties
• Support ongoing research in the above-mentioned subjects
