The College of Administration and Economics plays a vital role in today's rollercoaster economy in this modern era of globalization and development. Due to increased demand for administrative and economic experts in today's profit and demand business environment, the Kurdish business world has expressed a strong need for the College of Administration and Economics.
The University of Dohuk, College of Administration and Economics, has been providing students with high quality academic programs that build critical business management skills, essential for achieving long-term success and the ability to deal with the complexities of the environment at company and industry level, both nationally and internationally.
The college was an expansion of the Department of Economics – originally connected to the College of Arts – in December, 1996. Following the expansion, Dohuk University quickly became recognized as one of the leading comprehensive and competitive business colleges in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Our graduate programs followed soon after, and continue to draw students and faculty from all over the region by offering day and evening classes to earn advanced degrees.
The secret to our success is our accomplished faculty who provide a superior level of education; and student population of approximately 800 that rises to the challenge of our aggressive curriculum; and applied experience in the form of relevant internships, on-site field projects with local and regional companies, in-class projects, and case studies that address the most topical business themes.
Our graduates leave with a clear understanding of major problems and policies in the real world of business and become the main resources of the future business leaders and managers in the region.
The college offers a BA or BS according to specialization for undergraduate study. A one year PGD is offered for graduate study in the fields of General Administration and Statistics and MA or MS in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, and Statistics.
The college is designed to provide students with a broad theoretical and applied background of business and the development of a prosperous economic system. The Administration program tackles the problems of creating an efficient and effective administration for modern industrial, commercial, and public sector operations. The Economics program is structured to give students an understanding of the major problems and policies in the business setting and to explain the reasoning behind it using various theoretical models.
The college strives to meet the educational needs of our students and the Iraqi Kurdistan by facilitating a learning environment and strengthening student's commitment to the education.
Evening Classes
Below are the classes offered each year by the college departments.
Department of Economics
Economics is the study of how societies produce what they consume, by what means, in what quantities, and how products are used and distributed. The program has, therefore, been structured to give to the students an understanding of major problems and policies in economic life and to explain the theoretical models of the economic process.
