The First Physical Sports Festival Starts at the College of Physical Education

Activities for the First Physical Sports Festival at the College of Physical Education in the University of Dohuk (UoD) started under the slogan "Sports for all." The aim of this festival was raising the student level in the college and providing them with more knowledge about the physical spirit and concepts to making introductions for the sports available at the college.

Prof. Odeat O. Essi, dean of the college of Physical Education, stated that the festival started with a scouting camp for students and it also presented lectures about various subjects on physical movement. Folk sports were also presented by the children of members of the college staff. During the festival, competitions between the staff and students were held in a friendly atmosphere.

The festival started on May 7, 2008 and it lasted for four days. Prof. Odeat said that the festival will be held annually and it will contain theoretical and practical lessons. The opening ceremony for the festival took place at the college. The Mayor of Dohuk, the chief of KDP and the president of UoD attended the ceremony.
