On July 26, 2006 a special seminar was held in the Presidency building of the University of Dohuk.
Its purpose was to further the development of the administration and leadership skills required by the teaching staff and deans of the colleges in the University of Dohuk.
The seminar was presented by group of professors from the University of Tennessee, U.S.A. Those present included the minister for Higher Education in the Kurdistan Region.
Dr. Fraydoon Karim, the representative of the Kurdistan Region in the USAÂ presented the first lecture under the title, "Negotiation and Leadership". He stated that the main objective of the seminar was to increase the leadership expertise of both teaching staff and directors of administrative offices to enable them to deal with the controversial situations arising during the growth and development of the Iraqi administration.
The seminar covered various topics including leadership, the art of negotiation and the development the university's administration, and was attended by a number of heads of the relevant offices in the Dohuk Governorate, deans and departmental heads of the colleges of the university, and the president of the University of Tikrit, Dr. Maher Salih Al-Jiboori and his accompanying delegation. |
