The thesis was submitted by Mr. Khalil Sadiq Isamil a student in the College of Engineering at the University of Dohuk, under the title; "Evaluation of Water Run-out and Stability in the Dohuk Dam ". The thesis discussed the insufficiency and improperness of former research and studies with regard to the stability and water level of the dam.
The thesis made an appeal to the directorate of Dohuk Dam with recommendations, some of which should focus on the piezometer reading of the water level, depth and expansion.
The discussion committee, which approved the thesis with the grade V.Good, included its head, Dr. Khalid Siddeeq Alsheik Ali from the University of Dohuk and the following members; Dr. Rafe' Mahmoud, Dr. Adel Mohammed Raheem from the University of Dohuk and the supervisor Dr. Bahzad Mohammed Ali.
It is worth mentioning that the dam, which is situated 5 km north of Dohuk City, is regarded one of the tourist attractions lying within the Dohuk governorate. |
