Seminar on Town Planning Challenges and Local Architecture

2006-10-03

Dr. Hoshiar Nooraddin, Senior architect in Norwegian Road Directory, held two seminars on architecture and engineering designs in the presidency of the University of Dohuk. The titles of the seminars were: Globalization and Search for Modern Local Architecture and Town Planning Challenges in Present Kurdistan.



The president and vice-presidents of the university were present at the seminars along with many professors from the college of Engineering, representatives from Dohuk Governorate, Dohuk Municipality, and other offices and directorates which deal with architecture and engineering development of the city were present in the seminars.



In the seminars different aspects of Kurdish architecture history, its identity, and capacity building of Kurdish structures were discussed. Norwegian architecture was another topic of the seminars. Another important issue was the lack of necessary building codes in Kurdistan.
