The South Korean agency, KOICA, Korea International Cooperation Agency, showed its willingness to support the Cultural Center and the Languages Teaching Center at the University of Dohuk (UoD). Dr. Hassan, Vice-President for Scientific Affairs at UoD, said that the confirmation of KOICA came after a visit by Mr. David SONG, the Chief Representative.
KOICA will establish three halls at the Cultural Center. One of these halls will be specifically for meetings and conferences and supplied with modern equipment. A second hall will be a lab for the English Department. The last hall will be a center for teaching English.
Mr. SONG gave an introductory lecture about South Korea at the College of Administration and Economics entitled “Korean Economic Development and KOICA Activities”. In addition, he talked about the role of the South Korean forces in the Kurdistan Region and the projects these forces achieve. At the end of the lecture, Mr. SONG presented an honorary certificate to President Asmat for his constructive efforts in establishing relations between the Korean Agency and UoD.
