| Annual Cultural Festival at the College of Arts |

Under the slogan " College of Arts: a Center of Science, Culture, and Kurd Nationalism", the College of Arts held its annual cultural festival on April 21, 2007. The three day cultural festival, sponsored by Dr. Asmat M. Khalid, President of the University of Dohuk (UoD), covered many cultural events; lectures, seminars and various literary activities.
The festival was opened with welcome speech by Dr. Mohammad S. Zebari, dean of the College of Arts. Dr. Asmat then delivered a speech in which he showed his complete support to the festival referring to the importance of the university's role in serving the Kurdish culture through its cultural activities.
The program for the first day contained a number of lectures and seminars:
- "Kurdistan and Water Security in Iraq".
- A lecture on literature and journalism
- "Southern Kurdistan in Mitreqi Zadeh Journey in 1534".
- "The Women's Language".
The second day covered other lectures and seminars:
- "The Role of Air and Solar Radiation in Reducing the Ozone in Term of Time and Place"
- "Old English Poetry- The Exter book"
- A lecture on Linguistics
- The Turkish policies in Kurdistan.
The last day contained seminars entitled:
- "The Kurdish Habits and Traditions"
- "Has Poetry died?"
- "Influence of the Weather Change on Diseases Separation in Dohuk City".
The festival concluded with a poetry symposium for a number of poets.
