The minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Kurdistan, Dr. Edrees Hadi, scheduled a meeting to discuss improvements for higher education. He explained the steps taken by the ministry to hold a higher education conference this September in Erbil with the president, his assistants, heads of the departments, and the teaching staff. This conference will be held in coordination with the Kurdish government and the Ministry of Higher Education in Baghdad.



Issues presented will cover a variety of topics: the university administration, development of human resources, improving the principles of teaching, and updating textbooks. It will also concentrate on graduate studies. Every participant at the conference will present a suggestion for developing the educational process. The aim is to connect the universities in Kurdistan with international universities.



The minister focused on the significance of mutual work especially in organizing committees and reducing the gap among these universities. The importance of initiating scientific research and opening centers was stressed. Dr. Edrees stated that the main purpose is to match the scientific development in the world and specify the different types of education and the modern methods in higher education.
