| Twenty-Third Annual International Conference in Egypt |

The 23rd annual international conference of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology was held in Alexandria, Egypt .The conference entitled “Development Strategies for Higher Education Institutions in the Arab World in the Light of Contemporary Challenges” lasted for three days from 28-30 July 2007. It focused on such issues as the study and analysis of the status of higher education institutions in Arab countries in terms of their structure, programs, economy, and the challenges facing them. Other areas of interest were the universities’ role in developing students' activities, scientific research, and electronic teaching.
The University of Dohuk (UoD) president, Dr. Asmat, participated in this conference hosted by both the Secretary-General of the Arabic League, Mr.Amro Mosa and the Minister of Higher Education in Egypt, Hani Hilal. In the conference, cooperative relations between UoD and a number of higher educational institutions and colleges were discussed in addition to coordinating with professors whose expertise may contribute to the advancement of Kurdish universities. |
