UN-mandated University with a Peace Program at UoD

2007-10-21

The Director of Academic Development from the UN-mandated University for Peace, Dr. Victoria Fontan, made a visit to the University of Dohuk (UoD) on 21 October. The aim was to discuss a possible partnership in the establishment of a MA program in Peace and Conflict Studies at UoD.



These studies will help to carry out training programs for the university staff especially in issues like: peace, conflict, and specific problems in the region. Dr. Fontan assured through her visit that the Costa Rican University for Peace is motivated to collaborate with the Academic Consortium for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution (ACCCR) at UoD in mutual areas of need and concern and to continue to strengthen relations between the two institutions.



The program is planned to be carried out during 2008 – 2009.
