2007-11-05 |
With an interest in countries suffering from political issues, a delegation from Norway visited the University of Dohuk (UoD). The Peace Organization in Norway amasses students from distressed countries and trains them in various fields such as administration and science. This will allow them to serve their individual country in their specialization according to the need of the region.
The aim of the visit was to gather information about the Kurdistan region and to widen their vision about the region's needs. The delegation relayed to the Vice President for International Relations, Dr. Dawood Atrushi, the good living conditions for the Kurdish students immigrated to Norway and the high academic levels they have reached. This should contribute to the general rebuilding of the region.
The delegation also held a meeting with Dr. Mohammad Ramadan, the director of the Academic Consortium for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution (ACCCR) at the College of Law. They showed a great interest in cooperating with the center and will work on arranging a workshop during 2008.
Dr. Atrushi assured that the university will support the organization's work and cooperate in promoting peace work and peace studies at the UoD.
