The graduate study program was launched in 1996. This originally small program is an important proirity to the University of Dohuk and now covers many specializations. The main objectives of the program are to explore solutions, update the knowledge of the existing faculty, and ensure future academic staff for the University of Dohuk, other academic inistitutions in Iraqi Kurdistan, and all Iraq.
Our primary concern is making sure we meet the highest quality demand for each specialized subject. Flexible programs have been designed to enable our university to execute mutual programs with international universities and research centers. Within these programs, we can exchange knowledge, students, and researchers through visiting or distance programs. To ensure successful results, only students who can present capability and background knowledge will be granted admitance for these programs.
A\ One-year diploma:
Students who apply for this study should:
- Have a Bachelor degree in his/her specialization from one of the universities.
- Accomplish two years of experience in his/her field after graduation.
- Have qualification certificate of computer and English language.
- Pass the scientific qualifying test of their department.
The admitted students should:
- Sum up between 22-24 units in different subjects.
- Submit a desertation qualified for 4 units.
The minimum pass degree in each subject is 60% and the over all average of 65%.

- College of Administration & Economics:
-General Administration.

B\ Two-years diploma:
This study is mostly done in the College of Medicine in clinical studies and considered like Master degree.
Students who apply for this study should:
- Have a Bachelor degree (M.B.Ch.B) in his/her specialization from one of the universities.
- Accomplilish two years of experience in his/her field after graduation.
- Have qualification certificate of computer and English language.
- Pass the scientific qualifying test of their department.
Diploma Programs:

The program started in the academic year 1996 -1997. Applicants should hold a B.Sc. or B.A. degree with an grade average not less than 70% or rank in the top 25% of the graduating class. They should have a certificate of English language and computers from a Kurdish university or TOFEL certification. The applicants must pass their departmental scientific qualifying test with a minimum average of 70%, but not less than 60% in any specialty.
The program consists of two semesters, totaling 24 to 28 units of advanced courses, concluded by examinations. Students then do research under a qualified supervisor for one year in their field of study and submit a thesis to be defended before a pannel. It may be possible for a student to extend the program an extra year.
The Doctoral degree program began in the academic year 1998-1999. An applicant should have a MA or MS degree and all candidates must pass a specialist examination in order to register. The program consists of three or four semesters of advanced courses culminating with written examinations. Upon completion of the courses and examinations, the student does research in the specialized field for at least two years and submit a thesis to be evaluated by an academic committee.
