The University offers many support services, facilities and resources for the benefit of students as described below:

Accommodation

The University of Dohuk owns and runs a wide range of student housing.  Free dormitory accommodations are available to students who live outside of Dohuk city.

Four buildings were constructed for housing on the newly founded campus.  Each building houses 100 occupants, allocated preferentially to first year students, and contains a study room and kitchen.  Each room is furnished including carpet, heating, electric, and a cleaning service.  Furnished homes, with stove, refrigerator, and other equipment, are offered to postgraduate students and teachers.

While placement in a residence hall cannot be guaranteed for every student, the Accommodation Office does its best to ensure all students find suitable living conditions.

The Student Union

The Student Union is a vital part of university life as it allows students to participate in a democratically elected setting.  Elections are held each year to nominate students to represent their colleges, departments, classes, and student association on the College Board.  This election also nominates one student to represent the student body on the University Board. The student union arranges cultural and academic programs with the desire to increase student quality of life.  The student union also helps students with many issues such as: dormitory life, transportation, and any other requirements students have to finish their studies.

The Student Union is a government sponsored agency for all students.  Participation is not compulsory and students who choose not to participate are not discriminated against in any way.

Library Facilities

There are several libraries on the University of Dohuk campus.  Each College is required to maintain their own library and there is also a central library for the use of all students.  Libraries have experienced library staff that can assist in locating books, periodicals, and current materials students require.  Some libraries have audiovisual materials as well.  All libraries associated with the college are constantly being updated and expanded for student and academic benefit.

The presidency of the university established the Central Library in 1996 for its important role in providing the needs of the students, professors, and researchers.  In the near future, there are plans for modernization such as using audiovisual materials and computers for electronic and internet services.
